Common Questions

Where are you located?

16 York Street, Hammond Park.

Where can I park?

Please park in any of the visitor bays located on:

  • York Street
  • Almond Close
  • Whadjuck Drive

Please do not park in resident driveways or verges.

What should I do when I arrive?

Please take a seat on the outdoor bench just near the front door.

There’s no need to ring the door bell. I’ll come out and greet you as soon as I’m ready!

This ensures your treatment starts calmly and without interruption to the client before you.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 72 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.

Late changes or no-shows will result in your deposit being forfeited, and/or a cancellation fee charged.

Pre-paid packages and deposits are non-refundable, but can be transferred to another date if rescheduled with adequate notice.

This allows me to offer that time to someone else, and keeps the business running smoothly.

What if I'm running late?

Please text me on 0450 093 605 if you’re running behind.

If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, I may need to shorten or reschedule your appointment to stay on track for the next client. Regardless, the full service fee still applies.

I’m new, what should I book?

If this is your first appointment at The Gold Standard, please choose a NEW CLIENT service when booking. These include:

  • A complimentary pre-appointment form (sent via email)
  • A 10–15 minute face-to-face consultation before your treatment
  • A little extra time built in, so you never feel rushed

Booking a skin treatment? Be sure to add the “Skin Consultation (with first treatment)” option at checkout. It’s complimentary, and helps me tailor everything to you.

Do I need to fill out a form before coming?

Yes, you’ll receive a pre-appointment consultation form after booking.

It helps me:

  • Understand your goals and concerns
  • Review any skin or health updates
  • Note products or medications you’re currently using
  • Prep thoroughly so your treatment feels calm and custom-fit
What happens in the in-person consultation?

Before we begin your treatment, we’ll spend 10–15 minutes going over:

  • Your online consult form
  • Skin or brow goals
  • Past treatments
  • Lifestyle, health, and routine
  • Any special requests

This time helps me tailor your experience.

Can I bring my child or baby to my appointment?

To maintain a calm, focused space and for safety reasons, The Gold Standard is a child-free studio.

Treatments involve:

  • Sharp tools
  • Chemicals and hot wax
  • High attention to detail (especially for brows and lashes)

This is your time to unwind. I kindly ask that you arrange care for your child ahead of time, so we can both focus fully and create the best experience possible.

Do you allow extra time for new clients?

Yes! Every first-time visit includes extra time built into the appointment. You’ll never feel rushed or anxious. I’m here to walk you through everything and make sure you feel 100% comfortable.

Can I book a skin consultation on its own?

Absolutely. You’ve got two options:

Skin Consultation with Treatment
Included with all first-time facials. Just add the free “Skin Consultation” option at checkout.

Standalone Skin Consultation — $180
Includes:

  • 30-minute in-depth consultation
  • Two follow-up support check-ins
  • A tailored skincare plan
  • Product & routine advice
  • Lifestyle tips to support skin from within

Ideal if you need a full routine refresh, or have a long-term skin goal in mind.

Can I still book treatments if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

Yes, many treatments are completely safe and beneficial during pregnancy and breastfeeding — but I’ll always make adaptations to keep you and baby safe.

If you’re pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding:

  • Let me know in your consult form
  • I’ll adjust product selection, pressure, and technique as needed
  • Patch testing is even more important during these stages
Do I need a patch test?

Patch testing is strongly recommended if:

  • You're new to brow/lash tinting, lamination, or lash lifts
  • You’ve had recent health, medication, or hormonal changes (including pregnancy)
  • You’ve reacted to tint, dye, lash solutions, or lamination in the past

Make sure to contact me to ensure we schedule a patch test at least 24–48 hours before your appointment.

Even if you’ve had these treatments before — sensitivities can develop over time. Patch tests are the safest way to avoid reactions and ensure we’re good to go.
