Before Your Treatment
What should I do before my skin treatment?
Avoid actives like Retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and Vitamin C for at least 3–7 days depending on your treatment. Skip waxing, exfoliants, and tanning. Arrive with clean skin, and update me on any changes to medications, skincare, or health.
Can I have a facial before or after Botox?
Wait 7–14 days after Botox before having a facial, especially if it includes massage, steam, or exfoliation. Facials can usually be done before Botox if the skin is calm. Always follow your injector’s advice.
Is this treatment suitable during pregnancy/breastfeeding?
Many treatments are pregnancy-safe, except those involving Enzyme Therapy. I’ll always tailor your treatment to ensure it’s gentle, effective, and appropriate for you during pregnancy.
Can I have a facial if I’m on prescription skincare?
Yes, but it depends on the medication and how your skin is responding. Some prescription skincare (like retinoids or acne treatments) can increase sensitivity, so certain treatments may need to be adjusted or avoided. Please let me know what you’re using before your appointment so I can tailor your treatment safely and effectively.
After Your Treatment
What should I expect after a skin treatment?
Your skin may feel hydrated, refreshed, or slightly warm. Mild redness, tingling, sensitivity, or dryness is normal and usually settles within 24–48 hours. Some clients may experience light flaking or purging around days 3–5 as old skin cells shed and the skin renews. Results continue to develop over the following days as the skin rebalances and repairs.
What should I do in the first 72 hours post-treatment?
Keep your skincare simple and hydrating. Avoid active ingredients, exfoliation, heat, sweating, sun exposure, and tanning. Focus on barrier repair, daily SPF, and letting the skin settle naturally.
What should I do between days 3–7?
Between days 3–7, you may start light exfoliation if advised, continue to hydrate well, and avoid harsh actives. Daily SPF is still essential to protect your results and support skin recovery.
Can I wear makeup after my facial?
Wait at least 12–24 hours before applying makeup, and only if necessary. Allowing your skin to breathe helps maximise results and supports proper healing.
Will my skin purge or break out after a facial?
Purging can occur as congestion clears and skin turnover increases. This is usually temporary and different from a reaction. If you experience persistent irritation, discomfort, or breakouts that feel unusual, please reach out so we can support your skin properly.
Results & Planning
How do I maintain results long-term?
Consistency in home care is key. Follow the routine we build together, exfoliate 1–2 times per week (as advised), use daily SPF, and maintain results with regular treatments.
How many treatments will I need?
Results vary depending on your skin concerns and goals. Many clients notice improvement after one treatment, but a series of treatments delivers the best long-term results. I’ll always guide you on the ideal treatment plan for your skin.
How long will results last?
Results typically last 4–6 weeks, depending on your skin, lifestyle, and home care. Regular treatments and a consistent routine help maintain and extend your results.
When should I rebook my next facial?
For most clients, rebooking every 4–6 weeks helps keep skin balanced and results building. If we’re targeting specific concerns, I may recommend a more personalised treatment plan.
What if I have a special event coming up?
For most clients, rebooking every 4–6 weeks helps keep skin balanced and results building. If we’re targeting specific concerns, I may recommend a more personalised treatment plan.
