Brow lamination is one of those treatments that genuinely changes how people feel about their brows. Not in an over-done way — in a "why did I wait so long to do this" way.

If your brows grow downward, sit unevenly, feel sparse or just never seem to cooperate no matter what product you throw at them — brow lamination is probably what you've been looking for.

Here's everything you need to know before you book.

What is brow lamination?

Brow lamination is a semi-permanent treatment that restructures your brow hairs, setting them into a lifted, uniform direction and holding them there. Think of it as a perm for your brows — but instead of curling, you're straightening and lifting, creating that full, fluffy, brushed-up finish.

The result is brows that look thicker, more defined and easier to style — with minimal daily effort. Most clients find they wake up and their brows already look done.

At TGS, brow lamination isn't a one-size-fits-all treatment. Every appointment is tailored to your natural brow growth, hair type, skin sensitivity and the finish you're after — whether that's soft and natural or more structured and defined.

Who is brow lamination best for?

Brow lamination works beautifully for clients whose brows:

  • Grow downward or in multiple directions
  • Sit unevenly or feel hard to style
  • Look flat or sparse despite being reasonably full
  • Need more structure without looking harsh or drawn-on

It's also a great option if you want to simplify your morning routine — fewer products, less time, still looking polished.

It's not recommended for very curly brow hairs (due to natural variation in hair porosity, which can lead to uneven processing) or if you have a skin reaction history in the brow area. If you're unsure, get in touch before booking and I'll help you work out if it's the right treatment for you.

What's included in a Brow Lamination at TGS

Every brow lamination appointment at TGS includes a full consultation, colour match and face mapping — not just the lamination itself. For new clients, the appointment is 1 hour 25 minutes, which gives us proper time to do everything right.

Includes: brow cleanse · lamination · repair balm · wax and shape · colour (tint or dye) · vitamin mask · conditioning treatment · tweezing · trimming · serum infusion · aftercare advice.

Pricing: New clients $215 · Returning clients from $165.

Before your appointment — pre-care

A little preparation before your appointment makes a real difference to the result. Here's what to do:

In the 6 weeks before:

  • Stop using brow growth serums — these can affect how the lamination processes

In the week before:

  • Avoid waxing, tweezing, laser or any hair removal in the bulk of the brow area
  • Let your brows grow as much as possible — you can tidy stray hairs around the edges but leave the main shape alone
  • Keep fake tan off your face

In the 3 days before:

  • Stop using Vitamin A, AHAs, BHAs or any prescription topicals around the brow area — these sensitise the skin and increase the risk of irritation
  • Stop using your brow conditioning or hydrating serum — including the MyLamination Vitamin Lash & Brow Serum — for 3 days before your appointment.

The night before:

  • Gently exfoliate the brow area to create a clean base

If you have sensitive skin or are prone to reactions, mention this when you book — I'll factor it into your consultation.

After your appointment — aftercare

The first 24 hours after your brow lamination are the most important. The hairs are still setting, so keeping them dry and undisturbed makes a significant difference to how long your results last.

First 24 hours:

  • Keep brows completely dry — no steamy showers, saunas, swimming or intense exercise
  • No brow makeup
  • Don't touch the area — transferring oils from your fingers can interfere with the setting process
  • Avoid sun exposure and high heat

After 24 hours:

  • You can rinse brows gently with warm water — no cleanser directly on the brows yet
  • Avoid eye treatments (facials, lash treatments etc.) for at least 48 hours

For the first 3 days:

  • No Retin-A, AHAs or exfoliating products around the brow area
  • Hold off on self-tanning products on the face

Ongoing: Apply the MyLamination Vitamin Lash & Brow Serum morning and night. This is the single best thing you can do to extend your results — it restores proteins, boosts moisture and keeps your brow hairs strong and healthy between appointments.

Your next lamination can be scheduled after 6–8 weeks.

How long does brow lamination last?

Results typically last 6–8 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle, how well you follow aftercare and how oily your skin is. Clients who use the MyLamination serum consistently tend to get the longer end of that range.

Between full laminations, the Brow Lamination Maintenance appointment keeps your shape and colour looking intentional without relaminating before the hairs are ready.

Frequently asked questions

Is brow lamination suitable for everyone? Most clients, yes. The main exceptions are very curly brow hairs and skin that's prone to reactions. If you're unsure, get in touch before booking.

Can I have brow lamination if I'm pregnant? Most pregnant clients are absolutely fine to have brow lamination — skin tends to be more reactive during pregnancy, so there's a slightly higher chance of sensitivity, but it's not a blanket no. My general rule: if you've had brow lamination regularly before falling pregnant, you're unlikely to have any issues. If you've never had it done before, pregnancy isn't the ideal time to try it for the first time. If you're unsure, get in touch before booking and we'll work it out together.

Will my brows look natural? Yes — the finish is completely customisable. Whether you want soft and barely-there or bold and defined, we adjust the direction and style to suit your face and your preference.

What if I've never had my brows done professionally before? Perfect — your first appointment includes a full consultation, face mapping and colour match. We start from scratch and build a shape that actually suits your face.

How is TGS different from other salons? Every brow lamination at TGS is a complete, tailored treatment — not a rushed 45-minute standard service. I work with one client at a time, take time to properly assess your brows and explain every step. You leave knowing what was done, why and how to look after it.
